Wow, that was an informative presentation. I didn’t know the military was reseaching liquified coal as an alternative fuel. Mercury is another emission from coal fired plants. We have regulations here in New Brunswick on the amount of fish we consume because they contain mercury in their tissues. They is some information here from the “Environmental Protection Agency” http://www.epa.gov/camr/basic.htm#fish

You will be the future decision makers who will decide on how we generate our electricity. It’s great that you are learning about this in Grade 6!

Wow i think that something needs to be figured out soon considering that coal could be gone in about 250 years and half the U.S uses coal for electricity. I think it would be better if they would be able to make liquid coals that were better for the environment.

WOW! These are really cool. You did a really good job on
them. Do you think we should try to use coal as a source of energy and coal?

You guys did an excellent job with all the details! Coal Power is really interesting. I agree with chaw, because it would be safer and more efficient for the world to have liquid coal.

Your presentation was really good. I didn’t know that coal will disapear in 236 years. I wonder what will happen when it does since we use it alot. It seems there is alot of damage coal can do more than it helps. Your presentaion was very good and I enjoyed viewing it

Thank you Joseph and Tyler for your excellent work. You made all the major key points about coal. Coal companies talk a lot about “clean coal” on TV but the technology to mine it and burn it cleanly doesn’t exist.

Fish in New Hampshire have a lot of mercury from coal power plants in them. We also have really high asthma rates in NH.

I would trust you guys to make decisions for me in Washington. Are you running for office?

We thank you for taking your time to view our power point. You had some good questions. We will answer them for you.First, No, we would not recommend regular coal to people in New Hampshire because it pollutes. Second,we had fun looking up different kinds of coal and mining equipments. and third, no, we are not running for office because we are only in fifth grade. We thank you again for looking at our website.
